Cafe Mou

Café Mou is no ordinary café. When you pass through the sensual velvet curtains at the entrance, you walk into with a theatrical space filled with unique flower arrangements, ethnic silk accents and exaggeratedly high ceilings. Café Mou is a large place with a gorgeous outdoor seating area, part of which is tiled and almost looks like some type of Moroccan swimming pool. There are tables decorated in silk which run alongside the terrace and have an outdoor feel. The main area hosts a dramatic walkway and there’s a somewhat more private room with candelabras even higher ceilings! The owner is a hair designer and a florist by trade and it’s apparent that he is a super creative person just by looking at the way the place is decorated. So much attention is paid to detail. Even the server's colorful ethnic headwraps are cool.
Café Mou serves fresh juices, teas and coffee as well as wine and champagne. When the tea comes out, it's in beautiful china pots and it's almost ritualistic the way the servers pour the water for you. There are a few snack options: crepe sandwiches, salmon on rye, millefeiulle au poulet, however don’t expect to get a full meal here. On the other hand, if it’s dessert you’re craving, there’s a bit to choose from. The desserts are like so much like beautiful sculptures, you almost don't want to eat them..It’s a shame that this place is not a full-fledged restaurant because it would be such a great atmosphere to dine in. Café Mou gets packed on weekends and is popular with people going on blind dates. Café Mou is located at the edge of Dosan Park. $$$ (650-9 Park View Building, Sinsa Dong, Kangnam 2nd flr.) 3444-6069
