Kong
Kong- This cozy little Japanese dining lounge/Sake bar in Cheongdam Dong has decent food in a cool futuro-zen space. You can recognize the outside by the long white mod sculptures which decorate the front window. The interior features dark wood walls with colorful silk wall hangings. Kong has the kind of dark atmosphere which probably looks better at night. Chain mail curtains separate spaces. Though the interior is very ‘design’, lunch is still a good value. They have daily specials like thinly sliced marinated pork over a bed of rice and veggies served with a side of miso soup. The main courses for dinner can run up to 20,000 won. The food looks like something you could get in a mall food court, but the quality is obviously much better. Wines are available. The place sometimes plays sleepy background music and the menu, though artistically styled, is not available in English. Kong is on the street that goes from Designer Club to the Luxury goods street. It’s near the Tribeca club. $$-$$$ (93-11 Koon Building 1/F Cheongdam dong) 02-541-4774
