NORI PEOPLE
This underground bar in Shinchon has graffiti all over the concrete walls. There's also a poster of Jimi Hendrix, a banner of Bob Marley and an acoustic guitar on one corner. They love music here at Nori. There's a DJ booth at the L-shaped bar with CD's stacked up behind it and, although there isn't really a dance floor, people have been reported to dance here, especially when the hour is getting late, and you've drank one too many pitchers of gin and tonic (20,000 won). This bar attacts a mixture of Koreans and foreigners and apparently there's a big male contingent. However, the fact that it's a male dominated bar doesn't stop people from packing it out, especially on weekends.
The bar is really well-laid out. There are several high wood tables with rustic benches and stools. The back wall has a long wood banquette running along the length of it. The over-all effect is quite cool and the energy flows well through the cavern-like space. It looks like the kind of place where people can easily let their guards down and just act stupid and be themselves. There have been a some instances of overcrowding and wacky or inappropriate behavior, but hey, that's what happens when people are out drinking on a weekend night.
To get to Nori get out of exit 1 Shinchon station, pass the Hyundai dept. store and turn right on the street with the FineBank on the corner walk up a few hundred meters and eventually you will see a building with a sign that says "The Bar". It's in the basement of that building.
