TIMBERHOUSE LOUNGE

This sleek jazz bar at the Park Hyatt hotel is mellow and elegant place to chill out with friends. It’s distinctly upmarket and caters mostly to an adult crowd. Often, people staying or visiting the hotel might end up here, so expect a lot of upscale business types. They have live entertainment like jazz bands, torch singers and piano players.

As you enter the Timberhouse, there’s a big rectangular bar which is lit from within and casts a blue-ish light. You can order cocktails, bar snacks, as well as sushi and desserts. At one end of the bar, is an intimate stage for the live performers. In front of the stage are low tables with comfy armchairs. Towards the walls, there are semi-private seating areas which are either partitioned off by glass or by carved wooden partitions. Some of the walls are made with stacked stone shingles. The décor is a nod to traditional Korean houses, but with a modern twist. The overall effect of the bar is dark and mysterious.

In the future, Timberhouse will be holding ladies nights, for gals who don’t like the loud club scene, but might want to leave the kids at home (for once) and enjoy a drink amongst close friends. Timberhouse probably isn’t a bad place to come as well if you’re a lady looking to meet a rich businessman. It’s no surprise that this place is on the expensive side.
