WATTS ON TAP

This relaxed bar is Shinchon is owned by a Canadian guy and is run by a foreign staff (Kiwis and Aussies). One of the regulars there, who compared himself to Norm from the TV series "Cheers", seemed to know the bar so well we almost mistook him for someone that worked there. We asked him if there were alot of foreigners going there and he said "Oh that's an understatement" We also asked him what the crowd was like on a typical night. He said "Have you ever seen the movie American Pie? Watts on Tap is like Stifler's mom: cigarette in one hand, a high ball in the other and she seems to be saying "Hey big boy". (Readers, you can draw your own conclusions from that comment...) The atmosphere at Watts does appear to be great for socializing and the crowd seems quite friendly. There are also special parties being thrown here on a regular basis and there are language exchange nights for all different languages, not just English. There are also open mike nights and live music nights.
The interior of Watts on Tap is comfortable and unpretentious. There's a big screen TV, dart boards and brick walls. There are tables for 4 and there's a long banquette bordering a big window. There's also a nice rooftop terrace where you can kick back with a cold brew in the the warmer months.
Watts on Tap has a menu of exactly the kind of bar snacks you want to eat when you've been drinking. They have cheese sticks, chicken wings, meat pies, sausages, spaghetti, burgers, burritos and nachos. If you're tired of the pubs in Itaewon, check out Watts on Tap. It's a fun place.
