~Do Make Say Think~
Opening: Email scstickets@gmail.com for advance ticket purchasing instructions. -----Toronto's Do Make Say Think has always managed to gather, balance and synthesize various poles simultaneously – ragged/precise, dirty/clean, atmospheric/stratospheric – forging sonic narratives that combine broad strokes and clusters of detail. Perhaps more than their overtly 'post-modern' commingling of various musical genres (psych, jazz, dub, folk) it is this less conspicuous, indefinable ability to maintain such a consistently enthralling fusion of instincts that yields a music so unforced and natural. Certainly a key part of this unquantifiable equation is the band's self-production, which has always been a hallmark of their offerings. Led by Ohad Benchetrit and Charles Spearin, core members of Broken Social Scene and Justin Small, the 9- member DMST has a toolbox of recording and mixing techniques that cohesively ties together the various elements of their signature sound.
