Oh
Mok Theh
These
days, the artsy Insadong area is bustling with newly renovated
and newly built buildings. Among them is the cool new shopping
center called SSamzie Space. At the top of this funky complex,
there’s a colorful and serene Korean restaurant with glass
walls. From the restaurant, you get scenic city and mountain
views. This place doesn’t have an English name and can
be recognized by the Korean sign at the top. The Korean Name
is Oh Mok Theh.
Usually tourist areas serve second rate tourist food, but Oh
Mok Theh has really tasty delicious food with prices just slightly
higher than a typical Korean restaurant. This restaurant is
famous for stone pot dishes like Bi Bim Bap. Since it was hot
out, I had a refreshing bowl of Mool Naengmyun which is a cold
noodle dish in Beef broth. It was full of flavor and actually
had a spicy kick to it. That was perfectly balanced out by the
nutty flavor of sesame seeds. After all the shopping and sightseeing
has been done, Oh Mok Theh is the perfect place to chill out
and have a meal and beer. $$ (Ssamzie Space, 4/F, 38, Gwanhun
