LA TAVOLA

This restaurant in the heart of Itaewon was the first to bring real Italian food to the area and was also the first to bring in a wood-fired brick oven for pizza. Rightfully so, it was and still is one of the most popular restaurants in Itaewon. Alot of people come here for the social atmosphere. The place is equipped to handle large parties. You can drink, laugh and get loud here without being too conspicuous.
The thing that keeps people coming back to La Tavola is the consistently quality food. Our favorite things on the menu are the beef carpaccio, the pan-fried mushrooms and the mushroom soup, the gnocci, the penne arrabiata, the rib-eye steak and the salmon. The risotto is also good. The thin crust pizzas are super tasty and there are several kinds to choose from. They're thin and crispy on the edge, just like they're supposed to be. Yumm! The menu is quite extensive and through years of experience they've gotten things just right. The owner says that he gets compliments from Italians all the time whether they are coming from Italy or New York. One day he had an Italian from New York tell him in his broken Godfather voice "this is really good Italian food". Knowing how competitive New York is, that says something really terrific about the food at La Tavola. La Tavola has truly become an Itaewon classic.
