PITA TIME
The healthy alternative

Itaewon is packed with international food places. It’s fair to say that at the cheap end of eateries most of it is less than healthy and quite a lot of grease comes with the food. Pita Time breaks that trend with healthy but cheap meals.

Finding Pita Time the first time can be a challenge as it’s one of these 2 nd floor restaurants along a busy section of Itaewon with only a small sign to identify it. However, it is worth finding, and a lot of locals know where it is which is always a sign of a respected eatery.

The Pita Time menu is divided into two types of meals: pita wraps, or pita bread pizzas; the obvious theme being the use of pita bread.

For the pita wraps you select your main filling and then have a choice of the basic fillings (like tomatoes and lettuce) in much the same way that Subway make your subs. With such an abundance of choice in the fillings, the pita wraps are very vegetarian friendly which is often a rarity in Korea . The total Pita wrap is huge, bursting with food and it will satisfy even the most ferocious of appetites.

The pita pizza selection is much like the pizza selection anywhere else except that instead of pizza bread, they use pita bread. Each pita pizza is personal, and one will fill you up.

To accompany the meal there is the usual array of soft drinks, all available with a self service refillable option.

The interior is clean and comfortable. Impressively for Korea , there is a small outdoor balcony which overlooks the busy street scene below and is a little more interesting than the standard indoor eating areas that dot Itaewon.

All in all this is a fresh healthy alternative to the regular eateries, and everything comes in at a decent price.

Average Meal Price: W7000

Nearest Subway Station: Itaewon

How to find it: Take Exit 4 from Itaewon Station and walk towards Noksapyeong Station for about 300 meters and Pita Time is a 2 nd floor restaurant on your left.

You will know if you are heading in the right direction as you will pass Subway and Outback Steakhouse. Look up for the Pita Time sign as there is no 1 st floor eating area so it’s easy to pass if your head is down.
