SUJI'S
This cheerful restaurant serves home-cooked comfort food
in a relaxing atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, you automatically feel at home. Something about the decor just feels familiar. Pehaps it's the soothing scent of fresh coffee brewing, or perhaps it's the cushy chairs that you just sink into. The placemats even have cute cartoons on them. Suji's feels like a charming country home where grandma is doing the cooking. The decor as well as the cuisine is like an upscale version of an American diner.
Suji's is a spacious corner restaurant with two floors and a gorgeous rooftop terrace. The main dining areas have white or celadon colored walls
adorned with black and white photos of New York city scenes. (the owner lived in new York for a long time)
Suji’s is famous for it's weekend
brunch (served until 4 pm). On Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy brunch favorites
such as pancakes, French toast, eggs and bacon, corned beef
hash and omelets. It's not exactly what you would get in the states, but it's still exactly what you want to eat when you get up at 1 in the afternoon from a big night out on the town. Weekends are oftentimes packed with expats, kyopos, brunching families and groups of girls taking pictures with their cell phones.Securing a table might take some time on the weekends. Popular
lunch and dinner items include Shepard’s pie, cheeseburgers,
fish and chips, chicken pot pie, stir-fried shrimps and rib
eye steak.
Suji's is on the corner at the beginning of the main strip of Itaewon. It's on the same saide of the street as the McDonalds. (34-16 Itaewon Dong 2nd and 3rd flr.)
